Hampton city is on the southeast end of the Virginia Peninsula, bordering on Hampton Roads and Chesapeake Bay. The city has a population of roughly 150,000 and covers about 55 sq. miles. Hampton has miles of waterfront property and is chalk full of history.
Hampton hosts Fort Monroe, Langley Air Force Base, NASA Langley Research Center, the Virginia Air and Space Center, and features a wide array of business and industrial enterprises, retail and residential areas, historical sites, and miles of waterfront and beaches.

The weather in Hampton is temperate and seasonal, which is perfect for a trip to Buckroe Beach, which is one of the oldest recreational areas in Virginia. You may want to check out Langley Speedway, which is the only NASCAR Winston Racing Series track in Hampton Roads. You can also see the Hampton Coliseum, which offers sporting events, concerts, family shows and more.
Hampton has some great schools. Hampton University provides a private collegiate education. Thomas Nelson Community College serves as the community college. Located in the north side of Hampton and in nearby Williamsburg, Thomas Nelson offers college and career training programs.
